Cystic Fibrosis
This is something close to my heart as my granddaughter suffers with this affliction. Please support Cystic Fibrosis and help them to help those support their families with children affected with Cystic Fibrosis. Read the Cystic Fibrosis Quarterly Newsletter and the articles I have written (In Focus with Elly Hamilton) with Doctors and support staff on how they manage the lives of not only the children but also families affected with this dreadful condition.
Your Breast Cancer Experience
I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, and even though I did all the precautionary examinations, mammograms and ultrasounds 2 years in a row, the cancer had been there the year before, but unfortunately both reports, this year and last year, stated, “No Malignancy detected”.
I had a biopsy done a month later, which showed a carcinoma.
This leads me to wonder about other women who have had false/positive diagnosis occur from their breast screens. I would like to compile a list of all diagnostic imaging services that have presented you with the same diagnosis, and yet the cancer was there the whole time.
Please email me, so I can start compiling this list to present better protection for women and encourage government to put in place better diagnostic testing for breast cancer!

Help with Writing
There are times when we need another objective, or just a second pair of eyes to look over what we have written to get an different objective. We don’t always see things the way others do, especially with self expression through words.
Here are some questions that will help to find out if you have been successful with whatever you have written;
1. have you written succinctly?
2. do you think you have gotten your point across clearly?
2. will 'they' understand what you are trying to say?
Written expression can be difficult, so if you feel you need help or assistance, or just a friendly objective viewpoint, please don't hesitate to email me.
I will be more than happy to help with any of your writing projects.

Editing Tips
Consider getting everything down on paper first, then colour the 'picture'. The further draft is to add an 'active' voice. You may need to re-write and edit a few more times, but when you have finally 'finished' your manuscript, put it aside for a short time, then go and re-visit it with fresh eyes, this helps to provide an objective point and you will get to see things in a different light.
Don't Give Up
Read about which books and authors had been rejected before they were accepted for publishing.
