Auswriters.com was created and developed for YOU, the writer and poet, to give you a voice, a platform where you can showcase your stories or poems and by giving you an opportunity by publishing online for others to read and review, you get exposure to feedback as well as interacting with other writers and poets through the online chat lessons, and even get help towards getting published in print.

Auswriters.com started in 2002, and only received a handful of visitors to the site back then, but the site has a grown and now has a membership database of 850+, and continually growing. In 2005, when the first statistics were registered, the site received 12, 000 visitors not just from Australia but from all over the world.
In 2006, the site had doubled to 24,000 visitors, and as of today in 2007, the site receives a monthly average of 5,000 visitors.

Membership is open to anyone, anywhere in the world, and not just limited to Australia, as this site has members as far away as The Congo and Romania!

Our Aims

One of the aims of auswriters.com is to provide a meeting place for like minded Writers and Poets who have a passion for writing and wanting to share their work with others by providing them with a platform in which to showcase their work.

Another aim is to present writers with information about writing organisations, educational courses and institutions, upcoming writing and poetry events, competitions, helpful books on how to write, and most importantly, encouragement for writers.

As this is a site for 'you' the writer and poet, your input and advice, stories and information would be greatly appreciated. So please forward any information that you feel would benefit other writers, and I will promote it on this site.

Future aims that I would like to achieve for members of auswriters.com:

  • To publish annual booklets with the most popular short stories from the site.

  • To publish an annual booklet of all children stories from the site.
  • To sponsor Author's of Children's books to visit schools in the hope of encouraging children to read and write.

  • Advertising and sponsorship sought from Universities/TAFE colleges and other educational/government institutions or organisations.

  • To be a focal part of adult and children's literacy programs in the future, and provide equal opportunity for all.

  • To provide a weekly interactive chat forum with special guests to moderate the sessions (members only).

To create online workshopping sessions for writers so they can help one another.
